The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
