Tehran is prepared to restart atomic negotiations with Washington provided that it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat declared only diplomacy worked, and disclosed recent overtures had been made by mediators to restart discussions with the Trump administration. He said Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to allow the global atomic watchdog to inspect struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Walking a Challenging Route

Araghchi is treading a difficult course since Iran does not want appear to be operating from a stance of vulnerability, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had come out more powerful militarily and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material within its borders that it will never give up" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the previous talks.

Earlier Discussions Unexpectedly Ended

The previous five rounds of discussions between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a fortnight-long engagement that culminated with Donald Trump declaring the locations had been destroyed. Subsequently, European countries used their right to reimpose international penalties, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Perfect Agreement Offered

Iranian officials said they felt they had reached a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been decided in the talks that US nuclear scientists could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Officials asserted repeatedly they had secured an understanding with the US representative the US official only for the agreement to collapse due to "detractors in America".

Existing Situation

In his address to the conference, designed to depict the US as a dominant force that abuses the notion of international law, the foreign minister said the two-week conflict showed the clash could not be settled by armed force. He stated the assaults commenced with a American requirement for an unconditional Iranian surrender and concluded with an unconditional call for a ceasefire.

Iran is convinced the initial Israeli attacks were executed with complete American awareness and collaboration, making confidence challenging to restore.

Dialogue Stays the Final Solution

Araghchi stated: "Tehran was not the one that had abandoned dialogue; it was the United States and the European states that had repeatedly sought to enforce their desires during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and remains the final answer to address disagreements, but its requirements, rules and fundamentals must be followed."

"Provided that they address to the Iranian people with the tone of respect and honor, they will get a reply in the identical tone."

Repair and Recovery

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the battle of recovery and recovery, the foreign minister claimed he was assured Iran's security strengths "are much stronger than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been restored. We gained many lessons from this conflict; we have identified our internal vulnerabilities and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."
